Any news on 1GB 4870?

But they are the exact same cards, only different brands, how can they clock any differently? The HD4870 1GB that is. Only the HD4850s have been modified by 3rd party vendors like PowerColor adding 2GB of VRAM to the HD4850 (which by Guru3Ds review lowers performance).

H264 decode won't be a problem on any of the last few generations, but on a 3007 a 1GB version would be the way to go. Depending on the price of the 1GB version, you might even consider a 4870X2 instead as it really shines at 2560x1600.

Here's a review from Hardspell of the 1GB PowerColor 4870. Keep in mind however they are CPU bottlenecked using a 2.66GHz C2Q which isn't enough to show separation between the parts in most games, even at high resolutions with AA. The only bench I saw that stuck out was Crysis, where the 1GB was 2x the performance. I'm going to guess they changed the texture setting from High to Very High or something.

This is a review for an Oced edition of the card , are you sure it's a 1gb version?

This is a review for an Oced edition of the card , are you sure it's a 1gb version?

That review doesn't say it's 1GB 4870 version, all it says that it's a non reference 4870. The CPU clocks make the review worthless anyway.
