Any new species pop up in human history?

Lifer
Has any species of animal been created by evolution (human invoked, or not) in our recorded history?

I mean, genetically altered animals are prolly considered new species, but have any evolved naturally?

Well, I guess certain viruses and bacteria have changed in response to out medications and stuff... but is that counted as evolution?

I know this is a really broad question...

of course it's counted as evolution....

cichlids in lake victoria split off into several species 14000 years ago, which i believe puts it within human history

Well, we could try to make one.... by crossing a pig and an elephant. 😀 (stupid Southpark reference)

why wouldnt it be counted as evolutions, many many strains of new bacteria have evolved out of need to resist antibiotics.

yea, which, btw is why companies should be SHOT for continuing to push and market anti-bacterial soaps and whatnot. that and pesticide makers.

Well, we don't wanna die from the plague or anything 😀 Then again, if we keep forcing the bacteria to evolve, there will eventually be a super disease that will be worse than the plague...

yea exactly (about the super disease)... we don't want to die from the plague, which is exactly why we shouldn't be using those products willy nilly.
