Just wondering what the best online resourse for shopping...what is the newegg.com for bike stuff? Just got my first mountain bike in many years...

There's no one best place in my experience. In addition to the above sites, I sometimes use:
universalcycles.com
jensonusa.com

Also, Larry at mtn high or Chad at Red Barn can sometimes give good prices, but I always just call them and ask if they have what I need and for how much.

The absolute best is to build up a group of cycling-crazed buddies. Then when you need anything you ask around and usually get it for free or almost free unless you want the latest high-bling thingy. The cycling-crazed usually have parts bins at home with all kinds of stuff. Last time I built a bike I got free wheels, free disc brakes, and a few other free parts. I've given away a couple frames, suspension fork, stem, seatposts, a set of disc brakes (what goes around comes around)...

Knowing people with the pro-deal hookups is also excellent if you actually do want the latest high-bling stuff.

Do you know what you want? why don't you first to go to a physical shop 1st and check things out to see what you need and then buy it only if you really want to. Prices are not that different.

In addition to Cambria, I've used these with great success in the past:

http://www.speedgoat.com/

http://www.pricepoint.com/
(A spot to find the unusual, older but still useful part, but parts can go fast)

http://www.jensonusa.com/

http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/
(UK based, but sometimes the prices are so good, they more than make up for the overseas shipping costs)

http://www.icyclesusa.com/
(Product goes in and out very fast, but can find the weird and unusual here sometimes)

And don't neglect to search Amazon....be surprised what you can find there.

I'd like to add that by buying all your bike stuff online you aren't supporting your local bike shop and that sucks because when you really need something you won't have that relationship and/or product availability because by not supporting them they've gone out of business. I like to research stuff online and then haggle at my LBS. I've found that through sales and haggling you can get stuff for as low as online or even lower sometimes.
