Any Motorcycle experts here?

My dad has had 2 of his bikes at my house for years now... Since I'm going to be getting a dumpster and cleaning out the garage soon I decided to ask him what I should do with his bikes... He told me I could sell them and keep the money. He can't ride anymore and hasn't in years and I'm not interested in riding myself.

The Bikes are as follows:

1974 Honda 550
1976 Honda 350

My dad claims that he winterized them the last time they were used... They have not been run in at least 15 years though.... I have a guy at work interested in looking at them once I get my garage cleaned out and can back to the bikes (Yeah, My garage is that bad right now).

Seeing as though I don't much about Motorcycles I don't have a clue as to what to ask for them or what would be a fair price.... Any ideas?

Thanks

I just purchased a 1978 Honda CB400 two months ago for $650. It runs well and only needed new tires.

the cb350 was one of my first bikes. it had the coolest front end in 1969, the year i had. problem with the mid-70s were they are totally common and easy to find parts for. they also were SOHC engines, switching to DOHC in like 78 i think. i have a 79 CB750 still, my fave bike. id say that they arent really collectors items or anything, but if they start up and dont leak much, would be worth 500-700 bucks each (also if they look pretty good and have the body parts still in tact... mine doesnt). problem with them sitting for 15 years is those carbs. winterized or not, those diaphragms inside there will deteriorate, and they wont run at all most of the time. if you do get them running they will die at the worst time possible (like mine did, cost me more to fix the carbs than i paid for the bike lol). lots to take into consideration with thos eold ones, but they are decent bikes still. i just dont fancy the tail lights they have on em, the bracket looks ugry to me. tires are too narrow also.

Quick carb clean, new tires, fluids and plugs, new battery, should be good to go. If you can clean the carbs on your own, you might make some money. Or you can sell the bikes as is

Good deal, thanks for the reply.

I'm hoping to get $500 per bike. It's easy money to me no matter how much I get for them I guess....
