I think the concept of non-instanced housing sounds fun. Any new MMO like that?

Age of Conan will have fortress and town building, w/ raiding from NPCs and other players.

Darkfall will supposedly have guildhalls and such. But it's been a long time since anything was said on that topic I think. It could have been nixed or at least changed dramatically. Ship-to-ship combat is still in though. for Piracy. If you can't live in a house, live at sea!

And I loved UO's housing system. Buggy as it was in the early days.

Vanguard.

but its a ****** game

Yes, it is a very good game. :)

There's also Horizons, which had an excellent housing system. It just lacked the player base to really take advantage of it. And now that its changed hands from Artifact to Tulga to EI Interactive to Pixel Magic, I think its safe to say that its completely dead.

Isn't Vanguard's housing system completely broken currently? Or is my news a little off.

Housing in VG requires a lot of effort to complete. There aren't many people of high enough level yet. Since constructing a house requires higher tier harvested goods as well as higher level crafters, of multiple schools, its not something one can do at a whim.

Some people like to say the game is hopelessly broke because its published by SOE. :disgust:

DAoC has a fairly complex housing system, but it is probably a bit expensive for the average player. I haven't played in a long time, though, so no idea where it is at now.

Man you guys don't remember Asheron's Call or Star Wars Galaxies? Those had houses that were not instanced and in Asheron's Call anyone could enter your house but could not move or take any of your stuff which was awesome!

I played both AC1 and AC2 as well as SWG. I only ever had an apartment in AC1, though, and never owned a house in either AC2 or SWG. I would consider DAoC's housing to be better than AC's though.
