I recently obtained a job (yay me ) that needs to be able to use microsoft project quite well and I have not used it before. The job requirements stated that knowledge of the product was not necessary and I could learn in the job. So I'm looking for a good book or something to read that could help me get a headstart on everything. Know of anything?

I have used Dynamic Scheduling with Microsoft Project 2000 by Eric Uyttewaal, PMP. There is most likely an updated version. But the book starts off talking about strong project management before moving on to the ends and outs of Project Scheduling (ie, Work Breakdown Structures, Cost loading tasks, generating executive level reports, etc.) in MS Project. Which was good for me because it not only provides info on how to do things in project but also reminded me of the reasons for doing things a certain way (I work in the construction field where schedules are a key component of the business).

Hope that helps.
