I need to be able to make an image semi-transparent, as they seem to do in this 'help' example help they also have a demo that does it here- demo, but no where do i see them tell how to do it.

it would be easier if i could make the scatter plot i am working with transparent, but for now i would satisfied with making an image semi-transparent so i can see details of the image that is underneath it.
