Haha, thanks guys.

As it stands, there's engineers and programmers right now who design the molds, and send the toolpaths down to us. At the machine, we set the speeds and feeds, load the tools, verify the programs, set offsets and compensations....granted it's button pushing, but using trig on my third day to comp a tool 2thou was pretty crazy.

Hoping to get into the programming aspect in the CAD/CAM department, that's my current goal.

I run a surface grinder in a shop. No mill or CNC mill experience but i get to fix their fuck-ups. I've been doing a lot of welding lately :(

I am an electrical engineer by day, but I have been machining for a while. I built a CNC router and have been running a small business out of my garage after work and on weekends. I can help you with most of the process as I do it all on my own - everything from the initial idea through CAD, CAM, and finally operating the machine.

I also run a CNC embroidery machine and CNC laser (mounted to my CNC router). I really love this stuff.
