Any MAC people upgrading to Tiger OS?

If i order a mac mini today, think it will ship with Tiger OS? Is it best to order from them directly or Apple.com?

Their Web page still says Mac Minis come with Panther. I'd call and check before ordering.

if you order an apple from any retail location or from them directly any time after april 12th then you can get an upgrade cd for $9.95

as long as you don't intend to use the mini as your main rig.. otherwise, apple will have you bending over
a suped up mini ($1000) != $1000 custom built PC

I was just going to get the basic one and upgrade the memory myself< any real differecne in performance in the 1.25 and 1.42?

you might not want to buy just yet, i wouldn't be surprised if they are going to upgrade the mac mini soon.

I'll wait to hear everyone's stories first. Might be some bugs that need to be iron out before I would want to upgrade. However, spotlight is very intriguing and I may be forced to upgrade like most other folks.

i spoke to sales at apple.com and ordered the basic mini mac with apple care.

i was told that the Tiger OS will come on a disk in my purchase.

most of their stock in the stores are preloaded with tiger, my buddy picked up his g5 yesterday and it was preloaded with tiger.

loving tiger right now as Im typing this to you.. i have enough ram and hardrive to boot.. however it did lock up on me once or twice already.. my popup bar fails to work sometimes.. a reboot does the trick, but it is kind of buggy..

1.25 or 1.42GHz G4 CPU, 256MB RAM standard. I'd upgrade the RAM and it should be fine for all around general use.

Not so soon.. it has been less than six months.
