Yes. Look at your chips, if they are samsung they will most likely end in "33" or "2a".

2a is the better part.

Ok thanks.

What should the 3dmark 2001 scores be for my system:

Ordered from DELL - 4600 model
P4 2.8 w/ 800 mhz FSB
256 PC-3200 RAM (2-128 sticks)
WD 120 gig 8meg cache HD
Windows XP
Catalyst 3.5 Drivers
Radeon 9800 Non-Pro not yet overclocked

These are the settings i picked in 3dmark 2001:
1024x768 32 bit color
No AA
Double Frame Buffer
32 bit texture format
24 bit Z-buffer depth
D3d Pure Hardware T&L

My score was 14885
but I ran it while downloading a movie off of mIRC (and of course i have a firewall and AIM open)

I think thats a little low. Besides overclocking the video card and adding another 256 meg stick of ram, what can i do to increase performance (as in settings and drivers). I am using the drivers that DELL provided for the motherboard - i dont know if they are the best or not, maybe someone can help me out with that.

THANKS

Learn to help yourself and for god's sake please stop PM'ing me. All the answers you need are out there, try rage3d.com forums. You just need to spend some time absorbing things instead of being spoon fed.

My clock is the 33 part, as I've already said.

Downloading via mirc while benchmarking?

Sorry about the PMing, i'm a lazy ass. I was only running the benchmark during downloading just to check if i got somewhat OK benchmarks since my 3dmark 03 results were horrid.

Still, can anybody answer what my 3dmarks are supposed to be for my system in normal mode without overclocking and running those programs?

THANKS

I have no idea... Target I would want is anywhere between 14k-16k. I never used a p4 northwood though, however it should perform better then my barton. I get around 14500 with a barton @ 2.1 Ghz, so yours with a 2.8c/ 3200 memory/ 800 Mhz bus.... I would say at least 16k-17k.

I would highly suggest you upgrade to more ram A.S>A>P. 512 Megs min.

My 2003 3d mark was bogus as well. I seem to have some sort of hardware config or software config issue.

ok thanks

btw, what are the standard settings that the people who report the benchmarks usually run their 3dmarks and other benchmarks on?

iwearnosocks, did you flash the bios in yours to get it that high - not sure with your comment on stock voltage and bios

EDIT: Just OCed mine while playing Ut2003 for 40 minutes (switching back and forth to adjust bar and then continuously playing game). Highest I got before artifacts is 434/344. Is it bad that after 5-7 of touching the memory (while playing the game) that my finger starts to burn? Or is that normal cooling?

THANKS

Well I wouldn't leave your card over clocked until you play a more intense game. My 9800 can play any game with a very good framerate with max settings. So I see no point for me to over clock it and end up shorting the life of my card.
