I might be getting sued, can you please PM me if you know anything about law? I'm in Georgia, if that helps. If necessary I will post my problem in the thread.

Edit:

Ok I'm I'm not a minor, and about a whole year ago, I was at a party, and I hooked up with this girl. I didn't make her do anything, we didn't have sex. I basically didn't get anything from her, we were just kissing and I.. (you know) her..

Then we were cool, but after a week there were tensions, and we haven't talked since.

Now her best friend is texting me saying she'll sue me for what I did, and how 2 girls' word is better than mine in court. I didn't MAKE her do anything at all. And it isn't as if I made her do anything for me. We didn't engage in intercourse, she didn't.. me.. I did her though.

But that was it, and she was fine with it, until we got in a fight and haven't talked for almost a year.

Can they sue me? If so what are the conseuqences? I have the text messages from last night that her friend sent me about ruining my life, and all this and that.

Edit:

These are the text messages:

I heard you like to rape girls that are young and uncoherrent! I am going to make you pay for what happened last... hmmm november? Rawrr raptor.

Oh and if you even so much as look at the girl again i will let my lawyer know, I know exactly how it happened.. Rawrr raptor.

So lets see you got a little drunk, you went into a room with her all alone and begin to kiss her and jump to eating her out? (she asked me to do that but anyways) She was drunk.. Rawrr raptor.

If you have a different story call me and maybe we dont have to go to court and you wont end up in jail.. Rawrr raptor

I think two girls word against yor word is alot stronger to i expect i call.

There are a few lawyers here but you could probably (and should) find a local attorney with a free initial consultation. sometimes they can usually talk to you over the phone. I may be able to give general guidance but I'm not licensed in GA.

You dont have to be licensed. If you understand my situation, I'm just looking at what I might be facing if she decides to do something.

More than likely bluffing. Not only would it be expensive and risky to sue you, I'm not sure what kind of case she has if the event happened a year ago. It's not like they can take a DNA sample or anything. Besides, there is a very strong argument for you that both people were consented to the activities.

They can't sue, Civil, you unless there is trauma and/or some type of money loss. Well they can sue but it cost them a pile of money and they probable lose. You can sue over anything, if oyu have lots of money and time.

If the police contact you, criminal, then you might need a lawyer, but until then just tell her to F-off.

And stop messing with minors, we have enough Pedo's that post at this site.

Have you tried talking to the girl you hooked up with?

I don't think she will find a prosecutor willing to take this to trial (or a grand jury that will convict) and even a civil suit would be pretty expensive and difficult to win. You could always counter-sue for slander/libel.

agree, I think Intentional Infliction of Emotional Distress is a far stretch here.

I would not talk to her OR her best friend. Do not respond. It can't help and it might hurt.

Think about it - all you really know is a story that her best friend told you. You have no idea if that's the truth or not. For all we know, the best friend is making the whole thing up.

Yes.

DO NOT TALK TO EITHER OF THEM. AT ALL. EVER.

Clearly they are idiots and looking for drama. I suggest cutting all ties with them solely because they are complete idiots. They're probably just PMSing really bad and need someone to blame for all of their troubles.

Are you kidding us?

Look, there are broadly two types of laws one can be acussed of violating:

1. Criminal Law

After a year there is NO way to prove anything. No evidence etc. Not to mention that no District Attorney is gonna take someone serious who comes in after a year and wants to file a criminal complaint because someone gave them a little *head* at a party. I can only see this happening if it involves a minor and there is evidence such as emails etc where the *deed* is confessed to.

As far as two girls' testimony versus yours, unless the other girl witnessed this, she has NO testimony.

2. Civil Law

This is where you violate someone's rights or violate a contract. No jail time etc is even possible, it's monetary. How this situation could possibly be brought under civil is beyond me. I just don't see it.

Don't communicate with these idiots either.

Like others have said, TOTALLY cut off communication them. Ignore them, do not respond. They will go away eventually, because the fun and the drama will cease.
