Can anyone recommend a laptop that can handle programs like Alias Wavefront Maya, and non 3D apps like photoshop and illustrator?

I assume a laptop with a decent Pentium 4/4M or Pentium -M cpu and a 128mb video card will suffice for this.
So far, the new dell inspiron 8600 (I think thats the one) looks pretty good. They all seem to be over $2,000.00
Are they're any cheaper ones out there? Alienware costs about the same.

Just looking for any more suggestions/options

ALSO-
can anyone recommend some gaming laptops? Not looking for one that can do it all. So recommendations for aforementioned work and suggestions for gaming on laptops are appreciated.

hmm so the Geforce FX 5650 would be OK for working in 3d I assume. I see some workstation level laptops eqipped with GeForce QuadroFX video.

also it seems that for gaming... a laptop with an ati 9600 pro 128mb video card is the way to go... are there any centrino based or just pentium M (without the wireless features) based laptops that have the 9600 pro ?
