Any KT133A MBs (new in box) reliable with XP chips?

I'm not an experienced bios flasher, so wonder which KT133A MBs will run with XPs reliably "out of the box". Know Iwills are problematic. Your input appreciated!

That is a good question. I guess it would just depend on when the mobo was shipped. I have an Asus A7V133 and it is running an AMD XP 1900+ with no trouble, but it is flashed to the correct BIOS..

Gigabyte motherboards have Dual Bios for inexperienced flashers like yourself🙂. Maybe you can give them a try?

Thanks! Afraid my question was too general. So the answer seems to be either buy a verified PCB version or learn to flash.

Just my 2 cents: If you don't need RAID, you might want to consider one of the SDR/DDR motherboard solutions rather than a KT133 solution. With a SDR/DDR solution, you get the best of both worlds - you can use your SDR RAM now, and switch to DDR later for better performance if you want to. I just upgraded to the system shown in my signature, and am very happy so far. I looked at KT133a motherboards before upgrading, and most were over TWICE the price of the two available SDR/DDR motherboards (Shuttle AK32 and ECS K7S5A). Just doesn't seem to make sense buying old technology.
