Any Keurig K-Cup users here?

I like my coffee strong enough that I can chew it. i had cup made by one of these the other day, and it was damn good. BUt I would go broke if I owned one of these. The $$/ounce is not worth it.
 
K-Cup is great. Have them at work and loved them so much I bought my parents one and also one for my house. Love that you can set the time it is on so you can actually save some electricity.
 
We got it for some friends and they love it. Recommend you go online and buy the K-cups for much cheaper than the store price.

I figured @ $14 for 24 cups Keurig is 58 cents a cup. A pound of good coffee is $12 which should make ~40 cups which is 30 cents a cup. So with Keurig you're spending double *but* having said that, I usually throw half a pot away each time so it's wash as far as I am concerned. Plus, each cup is fresh and hot so that's automatically a win.

I paid 14.60 or something like that for 36 Kcups. Gotta use those bed bath and beyond coupons

Certainly not something i'd get for my house, but it gets the job done at work.

Also on Amazon most 50 packs are $21 so it's 41 cents a cup. Bulk is good.
 
I love mine. My at-home coffee drinking is sporadic, so having fresh beans on hand was a problem. The K-Cups aren't as good as a freshly ground cup, but they're much better than I expected and keep pretty well.

On that note, I'm assuming the ones you get online are about the freshest available. For those who have ordered from Keurig or Amazon, about how far off is the "Best By" date on them? The ones I get from Target usually have a best-by about 5-6 months from when I buy them (e.g. buy Nov 2009, Best By = May 2010), not sure how far from optimal that is.
 
I love the Keurig at the office. I can't stand Newmans Extra Bold though. It was all our office would get until I convinced them to try something else. I'm a big fan of the Coffee People Donut Shop coffee.
 
i make a pot of 4 cups of coffee a day, but i barely go through two, and i normally have cold coffee the next day so it doesn't get wasted.

i really don't feel like spending money on new coffee appliances as well as something that has potential vendor lock in.
 
they make good hot tea. not exactly a fan of the coffee they produce, although i'm not much of a coffee drinker. my sister-in-law has spoiled me by sending fresh kona from hawaii.

obviously not a real coffee drinker!! you pour it down the drain?? 😱


if its an early morning the wife and I brew a 10 cup pot.

sometimes I can reheat a cup at lunch when home, sometimes its drained

we drink the folgiers black silk, buy the big tubs at about 5 bucks on sale, way cheaper than the kkcup stuff

I think the kkcup is neat, just not very practical for anyone that consumes multiple cups of coffee

I simply won't spend more for my day to day, and I am too lazy to grind anymore

Its still better than the crap they serve at starbucks and most of all the local coffee shops.

Just because I drink mediocre coffee for my daily brew doesnt mean I don't know better is out there, for a price. ^_^

Same reason I drank some bud light last weekend, it was 1 dollar, and I didnt feel like spending about 20 bucks drinking some tasty IPA's


also the higher end folgers stuff actually doesnt taste like dirt. plsu my wife can't handle a good bitter flavor

as for the reheating.........its warm, and my home office is about 55 degrees in the winter......it doesnt taste that different

I have the Cuisinart thermal coffee maker:

I make a pot and the morning and sometimes I will dump it at 8pm and the coffee is still hot. Amazing.

nice

mine has a carafe heater but we let it auto turn off after 2 hours, dont want it to fuck up and burn the house down.....

I guess the #1 cause of house fires are household applicances like toaster and coffee makers

I dont unplug it, but I dont let it sit there 'on' all the time waiting for it to short out, the toaster is unplugged though

We use a lot of Jeans Cafe Hazelnut

We get a variety of K cups at Bed Bath and Beyond.

It makes great coffee and no more wasted coffee in the pot.

I've noticed almost every business has switched over to a cart or table with a K cup selection. Now I'm not afraid to drink the coffee at businesses.
 
I wonder how Keurig was able to pull off what other pod coffee companies couldn't in the last ~5 years? Why does everyone love them so much more than other brands like Nespresso, which is easily the fancier of the two companies.

Is it the low cost? The customer base? How many Keurig fans went from drinking convenience store coffee? How many came from espresso machines?

I am glad that this trend is taking off. There's room for every type of drinker in the market.

I'd say it was a combination of cost (high end ones have street prices around $115, low end ones for much less), ease of use, variety of flavors, and product placement. I can find cups for them at Walmart, Target, Bed Bath & Beyond, JC Penny, ect.

And I've had other "pod" based coffees in the past and it wasn't really a natural cup of coffee. Many of them were like...water fused with coffee flavored oil.

The Keurig brews a legitimate cup of decent tasting coffee.

And this is coming from a french press snob.

My wife got one for Christmas, and my initial reaction was that it was ridiculous and a waste of counter space. We gave it a try when we got home and it's actually pretty awesome. She's a 2 cup person and I'll have a cup now and then so it works great for us. I'm a fan. It also does Tea (as mentioned) and hot chocolate!
