You can drop me a gaim at CorporateRec.

I have a few questions that are simple, yet frustrating as hell to get worked out as to desktop placement.
Thanks for your help.

If you wish not to message here are the problems:

1) I cannot delete the trash can icon for /dev/null. I do not need the icon but it will not go away.
2) I want to seperate my the kbar icons from the tasks on the same bar:

for example (#=icons)

here is the kbar-- |k| |#| |#| |#| |#|_________(tasks)____________|1|2|3|4||clock|

I want to chop off the task bar part right after the last icon, and place the rest of the menu up top.
I have seen this done, someone mentioned window shading, etc.

Here is an example: here

Thanks 🙂

You recompile it do not show the part of the bar you don't want. Isn't the benefit open source that you can just rewrite it to do what you want?

for your trash - delete file /usr/share/apps/kdesktop/directory.trash

As for you icons/programs etc on the taskbar - Simply drag them - it is that easy 🙂

Hmm, someone seems to be a little misinformed and/or have something jammed somewhere.

Corporate Reaction: On the panel, right click, select add->extension->child panel. You can then move it around and then from the same add menu add other goodies. On the child panel, right click, select add->applet and select away. The child panel can be manipulated just like the panel.

EDIT: to shorten the main panel as in the link you provided, right click, select prefernces and play with the size slider.
