Any joggers in the house? Why do I get sneezing fits after running?

the last few times i've gone jogging, i've spent 4 minutes walking at the end to cool down. then immediately afterwards, i get this massive sneezing fit where i'll be sneezing for over 30 minutes. i do sweat quite a bit when i run, but i'm still not sure why this happens. it's very annoying and uncomfortable. any ideas what's up? how to prevent? 🙁

Maybe you have some allergy to something in the air. If your breathing from the jog causes your nasal passages to get irritated, that's probably your problem. Go to a doctor and ask about Claritin or one of those types of products. I know it's not exactly pollen season, but there may be other irritants in the air affecting you. Also, how cold is it when you run? Cold air may have something to do with your problem. The only other thought would be the possibility of attempting to breathe through your mouth more than your nose....though I usually try to breathe in through my nose and out through my mouth when running...

im out of breath after i jog.. 😛

i was thinking the same thing scarpozzi was.. could be something in the air.. maybe go see a doctor and do one of those allergy tests.

yeah i was considering the allergy thing

over the christmas break i was running on a treadmill in my basement, and i was always fine. so it must be something in the air at the gym. claritin has worked for me in the past, so maybe i'll take one before i go workout

i was also considering that maybe my body was cooling down too fast or something. in that case, should i throw on a sweater right after and try to stay hot for a while?

sneezing is not directly caused by being cold. what makes you sneeze is irritation of the back of your nose. this could be some fine particles or mucous.

You have endoplasmic verticulogisal failure in your right nasal cavity. You probably have less than a few months to live. That sucks dude. 🙁
