Any Jewish people or history buffs...

I have to give brief prsentation Wednesday on the histroy of Isreal. I am to cover from ancient recorded history until the creation of the modern state in 1947.

I am looking for any important dates or info if for some reason you know something interesting offhand.

What I really need are some good web references to research. So if you can help me out I would appreciate it!🙂

i like how you posted this here and not for the nuts in P&N.

For some good history search about the Six Day War, Entebbe, and others..

1947, meant up until the UN resolution 181. When the UN created the modern state of Israel after WW2 on November 29, 1947.

The Golan Heights wasn't captured until 1967 I think.

Don't worry Biblical recordings are being used as well. As far as I can tell Israel first became a nation in 1312BC.

181 created Israel and Palestine and was never implimented because the Arab's walked out after it was passed and declared war. Israel then declared themselves a state later and was recognized by the US and Europe in the following week and immediately attacked by 6 of their neighboors.

The UN didn't create Israel, don't repeat that lie.

All of those mentioned were after the UN resolution that defined Israel and Palestine.

You mean their six neighbors attacked them and got hat they had coming right?

It's simply that the Arab's hate the Jews and want them all dead. If Jews didn't live in Israel, then the Arabs wouldn't care about it. Misguided souls they are. Israel was formed there 3000+ years ago. Well before Islam even existed.

So, uh... What kind of presentation is this exactly?

look up the following:
Theodore Hertzl
The Peel Commision
The Balfour Declaration
The Crusades
Saladin
Soloman's Temple
Hasmoneans
Masada
Read teh story of Channukah

That should be enough to get you started

It's for a senior seminar class at my college. It is to show that the Jews have called the area that is currently Israel home for thousands of years. And by that, the whole "Palestinian" argument is a fallacy.

I've looked int the Crusades, Masada, and the events leading to Channukah. I'll be sure to find info about the others. Thanks.

Some real important info to your cause... look up the population of Jerusalem throughout history... Jews regained a majority in Jerusalem in the early 1800s... Also read up on Persian-Jewish relations.. the Persians at one point handed sovereignty of Jerusalem to the Jews...
