Any issues with Vista and Steam?

The only problem I've ever had with Steam and Ultimate is that it refuses to start when I first boot up. It's set to start with Vista, and sometimes I'll get an error stating that something in the registry is already being used, and it can't start. I can immediately manually open it if I want to, but it's not that big of a deal. That error comes and goes.

I'm not surprised to tell you the truth,seems that the Ultimate version has had a few problems with a few games,not sure what is exactly different from other versions(apart from features etc) but it seems to have some issues.

Working fine with my Home Premium Vista x64,hmm I see you have Ultimate version again 😕 .
 
I have Home premium x32, steam loads up fine. I can play games fine. Just can't seem to find servers at the moment 🙁

I have been hearing a few reports of problems with Ultimate and Vista with a few games,I don't know what the exact problem is.

I don't spread FUD ,he asked a question so I replied,not like I started a new thread ,my bet its probably some sort third party software installed that Vista Ultimate does not like with the game running in those cases.

HL2 runs in user mode. It can't actually cause a bsod. Check drivers. Don't forget video, audio, antivirus, 3rd party firewalls.
