I'm looking at either these or the Videologic Digitheatre's (not the DTS, just DD). I'd like to make use of the nforce's digital output (and encoding :)). ~220 shipped is the overall cost.

Of course, I could go analog, looking at the altec 5100's (and save ~$60), has the nice wired remote and look.

Yes, speakers are very subjective, but just want to hear if there was something outright you found you didn't like after having it for a bit.

Thanks,
Linh

Yes I have those speakers and I dislike them personally, the reason is that they are always on full blast. When you change the volume the white noise stays exaclty the same. This is b/c the input is modified not the amplification. I dont know if all speakers with remotes do this now days, but if so it is terrible. They sound good(very) loud though. They have stereo input, and digitial. You can plug directly from sound card into the sub if you want inputs from 5.1 analog. The decoder works well and whatnot too.

If you know about remotes and amplification and what not I would like to know.
