1024x600 resolution on my netbook is really starting to irritate me. I was thinking of trying to sell it and get Asus UL20A-A1 instead, which seemed like a perfect replacement, actually usable 1366x768 resolution with more horsepower and only slightly larger size. However, I came across couple of articles saying that new revision UL20AT is on the way. It looks like it is mostly the same as A1, except in black which I like, but I'm wondering if anybody has any info on battery, if it's larger than 4400mAh that is included with A1 or any info on default memory size (A1 only comes with 2GB), wristpad/trackpad/screen finish or release date/price?

You may be interested in this article. Basically you're on the right track for wanting something... more... than a netbook but not going all the way up to a normal notebook.

I checked it out and while 1410 is a decent machine spec wise, I really really hated the keyboard. It really surprised me because I'm usually not too demanding when it comes to keyboard, I don't get all the hype about thinkpad keyboards, I think there are plenty of manufacturers that have equal or better keyboards, but the keyboard on acer 1410 was truly horrible, probably the worst I've ever tried. It has close to zero tactile feedback. I mean I can feel the key going down, but there it has absolutely linear feel throughout its travel and there is no discernible "click" feel to it so in my test some letters simply failed to type, I had to basically mash on the keyboard to make sure every single letter appeared. No. I liked Acer One when it came out, was a decent machine, albeit handicapped by 9" screen, but even Acer One had better keyboard than 1410.

So I've been following news for upcoming i series ULV laptops, namely Acer 1830, Asus UL20FT, and Lenovo U160. Well, apparently Lenovo is available for sale... starting at $1050. WTF? Yeah, I'd like an i5 ULV in my laptop, but $1050 plus shipping plus tax, charge much? Where's the $699 introductory price everyone was talking about? I kind of hoped I'd be able to pick one on the cheap with a promotion/coupon of some sort, but at $1050 Lenovo is out, way too expensive. So now I'll have to wait and see on the pricing Acer 1830 and Asus UL20FT pricing. I'm weary of Acer keyboards, so Asus looks like a better fit. UL20A with SU7300 had MSRP of $599, I'd be thrilled if I could get i3 UL20FT at that price, but I'm highly skeptical. I have a feeling that this generation of ULV ultra-portable laptops is going to be more expensive than the last. Oh well, the wait continues.
