Yeah pediatrician did it. Anyways. Infant tattoes and branding are already here. My friend does tattoes and he was telling me that atleast every 2 weeks someone asks him to tattoo their kid. He refuses and tells them to go elsewhere... unfortunately.. they do.

Ear piercing though isnt a big deal for baby girls. You cant tell I have them pierced unless i have earrings in. Last time i wore earrings was for a few hours on my wedding day..

I find it funny how someone can condemn one form of scarring infants and then in the next sentance condone another form that's really basically the same thing, just because his or her friends/family/social group/etc has deemed the second one more acceptable.

There's a big difference. If I get my kid AC/DC ear rings, at least she can take them out and all that's left are barely noticeable pinholes.

They're still holes. And if the only thing that matters is how noticeable it is, then I guess it's ok to put a tattoo on a baby's ass. I mean, it's not noticeable when he wears pants. At what point does the scarring become unacceptable? 1/8" sq. of scarred skin? 1/2" sq? 10 sq in? What's your cutoff point for when scarring a baby becomes a bad idea?

I think it's obvious by my response - tiny holes in the ears.

In the meantime, if you think you're giving some dumbass kid a lecture (straighten your hat, pull up your pants, get a real job)... ah heck off until you have 1/2 a clue what you're talking about.

Such hostility from someone asking others for advice. Why do you think you have to wear earrings in the first place? Does it look cool or something? I went through that 'I gotta get an earring' phase 20 years ago. And yes, I was a dumbass kid. If your ear closing up is all you have to worry about, maybe you are too!

If you can point me to a job in Oregon at the moment where I can make more than I do now, I'll take them out in a hearbeat.

I'm lucky enough to have a $30K+ a year job at 21 that has a very laid back work environment.

I could dye my hair blue with pink spots if I wanted, & nobody would bat an eye.

Given the current job market, however, I am damn lucky to even HAVE a job, let alone this one. I expect my part time job to be at least as accommodating.

Yep, it's been about a year since I last posted. You were a dumbass kid then, and it doesn't look like the situation has improved much since. In the same post you comment on how bad the job market is and how lucky you are to be working, and then say how you expect your employer to accommodate you. With that attitude, I'd wager that you're not going to go far in the next year, either.

My ears have been pierced for over 15 years. I haven't had anything in them for probably 10 years and they're still open.

Don't worry about it. If you get a little scab just stäb through it again, no big deal. Just be sure to keep it clean. If the holes are already healed then they'll never close so you don't need to worry about it.

I have 2 holes in the left and one in the right. Haven't had an earring in for 5 years and all holes are still open. I think they will always be that way.
