Any IM programs that can penetrate workplace firewalls?

Have a friend that was using skype which worked for a couple years but they blocked it. The popular ones (yahoo, aol, msn) don't work. Any program out there that will work?

you'll go to prison

or get fired

don't use stuff on corporate networks that are not allowed

I can't wait to lmao when your IT staff sends out a copy of your chat session to the entire company.

Get back to work.

Going around your workplace's policy is not smart.

seriously. if they blocked it, it means they don't allow it. they always have ways of knowing unless you do something fancy.

Did you even read the message? I don't work there so I don't care what they do.

I my work all internet access are restricted, you can only access to some work related web pages, and only the employees that need that pages.

That sucks. At my workplace, it seems that anything with "game" doesn't work. Such as going to ebgames.com or playing an online game. Also, I tried to install weatherbug one time and it blocked it. Espn/anandtech/etc... work.

That is one thing that definitely needs to be blocked!

Nef at home, not work

yahoo messenger was preinstalled on my machine at work, so I use it (never use yahoo otherwise)
I can access most sites... but ones like myspace, youtube, etc are blocked. cant blame em.
What pisses me off is they block using firefox. I don't know how they do it, but I can't get it to work. Someone told me they don't allow firefox because it's less secure. but that's freakin ridiculous. firefox is way more secure than ie6 hah....

Eh I guess you could try Opera. It is still a hell of a lot better than ie6/7

Just use a proxy to access the sites.

I just RDC to a PC at home (with encryption on) for IM use. We can connect to any IM service at work and go to any websites, but I'd rather not have the IT guys randomly reading what I'm typing from time to time (I used to be in IT).
