Dear fellow enthusiasts, any input regarding my dilemma will be much appreciated.
I have a Q6600 g0 running at 3.55 ghz on an Asus p5k board
After vdroop mod my bios volts are 1.4v and under load 1.416v
I have a Tuniq Tower and am using AS5.
Ambient temp is around 25 degrees celsius. and I keep my TT Xaser case cover off.
Idle temps for Cpu are 36 to 39 degrees celsius.
However after 15 minutes on Prime95 ( First test small ftp or something )
my temps jump to 77 degrees and hold.
Is this kind of a gap between idle and load temps normal? Am I doing something wrong?
Cpu and Heatsink have been lapped too.
System is stable enough for gaming which is enough for me and undergaming get to around high 60s maybe touching on 70 after a few hours.
I have used Coretemp and CpuZ for monitoring.
Please advice why my load temps are so high, Ive tried to run at 3.6 but prime95 fails after a few minutes and if i up the voltage any more it gets way too hot
Thx in advance
