Any ideas for a part time job?

I've been working here at NCIX for about a year. It isn't too bad but I'm looking for a change. I need to get back to school at some point and this job is an hour commute each way, though I'm used to that now. Anyone got any ideas? Preferably something tech related but doesn't have to be. Actually it would need to start off as full time as I may not be going back to school until Jan or so. But once I do I'd need to scale back to part time. Obviously I'm not looking for something with high pay, I've been working retail jobs for 5 years or so now so my pay has never been high. Also preferably something stress free. Sales isn't the most stressful environment of course but any job dealing with the public and sales pressure is a litte, and when you add it to my depression and anxiety issues it doesn't help.

Any ideas? One job that comes to mind again is to try to land a job at a local EBGames, I was very close to getting an asistant manager position at one before.

If you're smart enough tutoring is decent, it's just hard to get enough hours.

Yes my father tutors quite a lot, as a side job from teaching at a college. I'm certainly smart enough. But my anxiety would probably make it difficult. I'll keep that in mind though. Thanks!

Don't just do whatever, do a job that has a direction towards your future potential. Experience matters.

Well I'm really not decided on what my future will be. My interests range the gamut from math, physics, and cosmology, to comp sci and biology. I'll probably just work toward a general science degree. At 29 I'm getting a bit old to be constantly putting off getting a degree, not matter what it's in.

Some of them are getting their MD's in their 50-60's. You're half their age.

What the hell is a general science degree? Does it cover merely the absolute basics of everything so you don't actually have to think?

Thanks for the link. My own father didn't settle into his career until his early 40s. He worked for the welfare department and numerous other jobs for years before that. But because of my history of clinical depression and anxiety (at times crippling) I feel it would do me some emotional good to get a degree under my belt. Don't want to be working retail for the next 20 years.

How part time? You could fix computers on the side.

Not quite that part time. However a computer technitian at a place similar where I work now is an idea I'm thinking about. I would need to get a few certifications first probably.

Are you looking to make money? You could code for free software projects. No money, but you'd get experience, and learn new things.

You Canadians must do something different. Here, the 'Bachelor of Science' title is attached to a specific field of interest, i.e. a Physics B.S. or Biochemistry B.S. or whatever.

I believe there is a general degree as well. However I would probably have to chose some major as you mention. Which one though might be at a toss of a dice as much as anything.
