Any Ideas about my strange boot problem

About 50% of the time when I boot my computer it will stall out during post or shortly after. Sometimes it will take 6-10 tries to get it to boot. Once it does boot, it will run fine until I turn it off. I don't have any compatible parts to try and switch anything out.

Here are some of the different places it has frozen during unsuccessful boots.
1) At the very begin of post before video bios info is displayed.
2) Video Test: When the display adapter flashes on the screen
3) Searching for IDE drives. It found the 1st IDE drive and then froze
4) Memory Test: It counted 1/3 the of the memory and stopped.

If the computer ever gets to the end of post and I get a single beep. Everything will run fine until the next time I have to reboot.

My System specs:
AMD 1ghz T-bird, Not Over-clocked ( Temp runs between 37- 45C )
MSI K7T Pro2 (MS-6330) Motherboard
2 sticks of Crucial pc133 256mb ram
Nvidia Geforce2 Mx
1 80 Gig IBM drive
1 40 Gig IBM drive
Plextor 12x10x32
WinXP Pro

What part would everyone guess is causing the problem?

yah, and if that doesn't help, sledgehammer the mobo and get a new one.

Although its prolly the PSU . . . and once its up and running its fine . . . . maybe check your BIOS for weird things. . . see if safe mode in the bios gives you 100% on-turning rate.

My 1st guess was power supply, so I'm glad 2 other people both guessed it also, it makes me feel a little better about buying a new one without being sure.
I guess I'll go check the for-sale forum.

Thanks for the replies.
