I'm thinking of switching from dual to four CPU's on my server.

Has anyone seen one of these lately?

hmm I didnt know you could have 4 cpu's on a single board. Just get more memory in your server and you will be fine.

Actually I just found a guy selling a 6-CPU PPro board!

That a little more than I was willing to spend though.

well I know that some good web servers still run on single ppro 200 chips(they have 1 gb of ram though)

Standard corporate WinNT servers use 4 Pentium Pros. Compaq & HP & Dell sell complete systems. I don't know where you can get system boards. They also ususally have 1 GB+ memory.

As far as I know, the only Quad PPRO board that was ever produced was the AMI Goliath, but they are very hard to find. Good luck

the true p3 xeons can be placed in 2, 4, 6, and 8 way configs.....could you imagine 8 p3 xeons with 2mb level two cache????? the gaming system of the future... ha ha ha

Oh wait... AMD just got their double cpu to work...barely....it will be a LONG time until an 8 cpu board or support for AMD chips will be available.

I'm sitting righ next to a quad PPro 200mhz system righ now.. it has 512mb of ram and a G100 video card. Yes they do make quad PPro's.
