I though the Twin Turbo GPU coolers were supposed to be already be out by now. They seem tailor made for the new Radeon 48xx series cards, but they're nowhere to be found.

Anyone have inside scoops or links to release dates/availability?

I'd be getting one of those but it looks like a paper launch.

EDIT: Upon much googling, some guy on a forum pinged Arctic Cooling and they said that the Twin Turbos should be out in USA mid-August.

It is mid-August now, I see no Twin Turbos at Newegg, ZZF, Jab-Tech, or Petras. I am very interested in the Twin Turbo cooler myself, but this is a sad paper launch from Arctic Cooling.

You guys are a trip.. mid August could be from the 10th to the 20th... and then a bit more to get ample supply out there.

Well in the huge amounts of forums I visited, a few people claimed that they had got one, and it takes up 3 slots, and that it wasn't that good. Seeing as how it looks more like an Accelero S1 cut down and with 2 fans permanently attached, I doubt that their claims are viable. Although they did say that after taking off the side panel on the case, the temps dropped something like 10 C, so the guy must've had a bad case. I do have worries about the cooler, since it exhausts air into the case. I only have 1 120mm intake fan, 1 80mm intake fan, and 1 120mm exhaust fan inside my Silverstone TJ06

With the way my case is, there is a fan on the panel right above where the video card sits. At the moment, its an intake, the the 4870 pulls cool air from outside the case, heats it up, then blasts it back out. I can easily flip that fan around to make it an exhaust fan to get that heat out of the case. As long as the cooler is a solid cooler, it should be relatively easy.
