I just spent over 4 hours trying to troubleshoot my installation of a new IWILL KK266 and Factory unlocked 1.2 T-Bird, only to come here and find out it won't work?

Is there any hope, or should I just get a new MoBo?

Thx,
Shawn

do you get any beeps...I got a 1.2ghz that was DOA...I thought it was the mobo too...bought a second(first had Abit K7TA and heard alot DOA prob)an Asus A7V133...still nothing took the mobo and chip to local store no mobo problem but a dead cpu.....

Do not get a second mobo have the chip or your mobo tested first

Will it not even post with the jumper at 100fsb? There is a known problem trying to run 100fsb thunderbirds at 133 on these boards and there are a couple possible workarounds. Search for KK266 in the forums...

I get no beeps at all, and my monitor shows no signs of waking. Also, my NIC lights up, and there is an LED on the MOBO that lights up as well. I did try it at 100FSB, but I don't remember if I cleared the CMOS before I tried it at 100 or not. Dang...I'm going to have to try putting it all back together again just to try 100FSB one more time! Although I tried it like 20 times already. Maybe the CMOS needed to be cleared first...

Thanks NZstorm, I'll check it out.

Here's an update however.

I put the KK266 in my computer with NOTHING attached except CPU and Fan, and Power Supply, Power Switch, and Speaker wire. Power up at 100MhZ FSB and get NADA, nunca, nothing. No beeps at all.

Headed to amdmb.com right now.

I think I've got a bad MOBO.
