now that that is out of the way, anyone here enjoy smoking hookah? my friend gave me a ton of shisha a long time ago but pretty much all of it sucks (what is left of it) so i'm looking to get some new shisha. i know starbuzz is a good brand, but i'm wondering if people like any other brands and if so, what brand/flavor? any favorites of starbuzz flavors too?

I'm at a hookah lounge as we speak.. er... type...

Al Fahker is a good brand that's cheaper than Starbuzz. You will get more smoke from it than almost any other brand. If more flavor is what you seek, then nothing really touches Starbuzz. I haven't had any good experiences with any other brands.

i believe i've had some al fahker too. is that like a green box with middle eastern writing on it? do you know what kinda shisha hookah lounges use? i've always wondered because i've been to a couple and their stuff is always good. but it's been a while since i've been to one.

The color of the box depends on the flavor. I don't remember which color represents which flavor. But yes - you got it!

I'm not a fan of the "Americanized" hookah lounges. They always use some hipster bullshit shisha brand that smokes and tastes like cardboard. The awesome, culture-shock places that I like use Al Fahker and Starbuzz for an upcharge. Those are the best. It's kind of like Pepsi, Coke, and "everything else."

okay cool i think i'll stick to the starbuzz then. there was also some new charcoal that i found out about that i want to check out too.

Yea, the coals don't matter much. Whatever's cheap. Just make sure they're fully burned-in before you start smoking. They're coated with some self-lighting material that kind of sparkles away as it ignites. Once he coals are gray, it's ready.

With how many ads I hear on the radio I'd think they must have tons of customers and with all the shops opening up. My guess is these guys are all just opening up shop waiting for Weed to be legalized.

I mean if you plan on cleaning the hookah all the fucking time I guess you can smoke weed out of one, but honestly if you use it for shisha you dont want to use it for weed. Will make your shisha taste terrible unless you clean the hell out of it which is a pain in the ass. The weed really gums it up pretty bad though and I dont recommend it.

i clean my hookah after every use, other than like down in the pipe because you would need like a pipe cleaner or something. but i pretty much scrub everything else down. i use it on average probably once ever 2 weeks.

The taste of the weed lingers for fucking ever unless you are reallllllly cleaning it. I got a free hookah that way because my friend let his friends smoke weed out of it and he hated the taste afterwards, bought a new one and gave me the old one (it was just a small one so meh)

If you don't mind the taste then it's a nonissue, most people would prefer it without weed tho 😛

I actually prefer the natural coconut-based coals. I've smoked a bunch of hookah with both types and the coconut-based ones definitely produce less ash and odor. The only issue is that they take longer to light, but I found that it's easily remedied by just putting them directly on your stove burner for a minute or two.

those are the ones i was looking at. i think i may get some of those when i order some new shisha. i'll give them a go instead of the normal coals.

I had no idea such a thing existed. I'll definitely give it a shot! Can these be lit with an electric range? I don't have gas, unfortunately.
