Anyone currently working in a IT help desk have any experience or has any advice as to what good IT ticket tracking/auditing software is out there? My super wants me to pick one to implelement here at work and all I can really find online is "Track-It"...but I dunno if that was an industry standard or so. I'm looking for something to clear out 250 sum users so it is not enterprise level.

When I was working as a PC Support Intern., the company that I worked for has about 300 employees. They just used access to create a database and the GUI to track their computer desktops and laptops.

NOT SERVICE CENTER!!!!!!!!!!!! BY PEREGRINE SYSTEMS AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!! I work for a F 100 company, not at the help desk any longer, and we use that POS tool. DO NOT DO IT EVEN FOR FREE!

I wrote my own with php and postgreSQL, works great, and is exactly what the company wanted and needed. I left 5 years ago, they still use it.

Not sure what you mean.

Cool thanks for all the suggestions. Yeah we tried the whole "Remedy" thing but doing your own programming in that sucks. I also pondered the whole PHP/MySQL application but unfortunately we have no staff w/ the time to do it. But I'll check out all of these. Thanks again.

Hah, I'm at a F100 company and also use Peregrine. I hate it also.

Fortunately, I'll be moving over to the 3rd level support where I don't have to create tickets with that godforsaken software.
