And what "intelligent" music do YOU listen to?

BTW, trance > techno.

I just finished listening to an epic older song...
Dariush - Ira
If you've never heard it...GET IT! 😀
Still absolutely love it after all these years 😀

techno transformed into "EDM" electronic dance music.

and from there it breaks down into many categories such as lounge, jungle, drum n bass, trance, house, progressive *...etc

a lot of older "techno" is based upon the body of classical music. with similar intro, melodies, breakdowns, climaxes... etc

but yeh... good music.

Genres are very hard to define with electronica, especially when there's trance & progressive trance, which also is like house...yeah, i don't worry too much about genres, but after listening to it all for a while, you kinda get a feel for where it all fits 🙂
Yeah, but 50,000 other people have 50,000 different feels for where it all fits 😛

Piano is more happy hardcore than techno. Techno is drum loops more than piano.

Techno has nothing to do with the 'sound' of the audio, Techno music is catagorized by the way the track is made, typically techno is all 8 beat, whereas others, such as Trance are 4 beat.

Happy / Upfront Hardcore is the dominant 'Piano' music, it's also the music I live for 🙂

Hardcore is a very often misused word, Hardcore is a general term for many sub-genres of Hardcore, Happy, Upfront, Breakbeat, Freeform and Gabba being the most common.

Link - one of the best tracks on the CD I have playing at the moment, MC Storm is the dogs bollocks, great guy IRL as well 🙂

Link - MC Whizzkid & Hixxy 'End of time', another quality track

Those 2 are a mixture of break / freeform & trancecore Hardcore.

Perpetuate - Another TranceCore Hardcore track.

Oh and, then there's what people usually associate with Hardcore, 'Happy' Hardcore.

What originally characterized Happy Hardcore is no longer valid for what passes for 'Happy' Hardcore nowadays, most, if not all of that is now considered 'Old Skool', because most of the new Happy Hardcore these days is very trancey.
