By the way, I would probably be considered a gun nut by most here. I have Glock, Sig Sauer, and S&W pistols, and a couple shot guns. I lost my only rifle in a fire and have been eyeballing a Remington 700 but my good friend keeps trying to talk me into an AR-15 and I am leaning that way, lol.

Here's a short list of every gun I've ever purchased

Glock 22 (11)
Sig P226
Sig P220
Kahr P40
Romanian AK74
Glock 32
Glock 26
Glock 32C
Glock 19
Glock 34
Glock 36
Glock 23 (2)
Benelli M1 super 90
Remington 1100
Remington 742
S&W post war pre-27 357 magnum
S&W 19
S&W 64
S&W 60
S&W 15
Beretta 92FS
HK USP 40 blued
HK USP 9mm stainless
HK USP 45 compact stainless
Para P14 (2)
Colt Gold Cup Commander
Springfield TRP
Savage bolt action 30-30
Winchester 94 .44 mag
NAA 20 gauge over under
Kimber TLE
Kimber Pro Carry
Essential Arms AR
RRA AR
Olympic AR

AR's can be nice, but nothing really off the shelf impresses me anymore.

Ohio Rapid Fire FNC + registered sear + Beta mag =

At least, that is what I'd do if I didn't live in the chickenshit state of IL.

And yes, I easily like guns as much as you. I currently have over 40 rifles (I forgot the actual count ) and 6 pistols.

have you read anything about the new sniper rifle being tested and used in Iraq?
Max distance is 2450m, now that is reaching out and touching someone from afar........

Rifles/Shotguns - I hate longarms, they're too much of a pain in the butt to lug around and take up too much space. I've got an old remingon 30.06, rem 1100 and a nice benelli M1 that I dont shoot much anymore.

I've got a budget of about $7000, I'm thinking about buying a registered reciever Vector uzi or saving up for a fleming HK sear.

Anyone else around here like guns as much as I do?
oh yeh, guns, can never have too big of an arsenal.

I've had about three AR's and I've got to say that I'm not too fond of a rifle that ***t's where it eats. They're such a pain in the butt to clean. I've long since sold all my AR's partly to upgrade other parts of my collection. They're not as exotic as I'd like.

Plus ACOG"s are expensive as hell, it costs $300 to recharge the sights a number of years down the road, and I cant justify buying a sight system that will see little if any uses over the years in the enviroment it was designed for.

POF now has piston driven uppers available.

The problem DMT is nothing there is real upper echelon (Barring the Gold Cup!!). Its all just run of the mill stuff. Good guns, but why buy 20 average things when you can score 5 nice ones?
For example, you've had what, 15 pistols or so? (I didnt count)
Smack down the time and wait to get something elite. A Valtro 1911. There supposed to be considered the cats meow of pistols. Then snag 1 or 2 others. The Kimber isnt bad either, but I dont care for the feel quite as much as a S&W 1911. Either way, a Valtro and Les Bauer or Dan Wesson.
Valtro

Same with the other guns. Get a HIGh end AR-15. I believe theres a Beaur who makes AR's too but I cant recall right off (Its early, my brain is dead)

Personally, if it was me with a good chunk of money I'd snag a Shiloh Sharps 45-70. Yep, an old BP gun. The fit, finish and quality is bar none the best though, and its a true collectors piece that'll outshot most other guns (It just smacks around the .308 in terms of penetration) I've heard the wait time is down to around a year or so, same with the Valtro's I believe. To sit next to the Shiloh I'd probably get a true H&K G3 as well. I couldnt justify spending the 5 or 6 grand for a FA Uzi, I think Uzi's are kinda trashy guns. IF I get a FA weapon I'll go all out and get the AR or AK or MP5 or some such.
Another option would be a Sig 550. Personally, I like the sniper variant but good luck getting one. Lets just say IF you can find one, your budget wouldnt cover it.

Les Baer 1911's are EXTREMELY tight and have an exceptionally long break in. I dont like that too much. I expect a gun to work as soon as I slam a fresh mag into it.

I'm all 1911'd out though - S&W makes a nice Scandium frame and I'm not a Dan Wesson fan.

AR's - again, just something I cant justify spendint $3000 on a match grade rifle and never getting around to shooting it at my 600 yard range.

Sig 550 - Not a bad choice, but they're impossible to find unless Sigarms decides to produce them here.

Well, part of having to break in a gun is BECAUSE its made tight.
I dont mean to sound condenscending, but if your not willing to break in a gun you might want to consider another hobby. Half of ANY gun is having to break it in.

As for the Sig, if your ready to cut a check for approximately 3 grand and wait for the build, I know where you might be able to find one. I was qouted 3 grand for the kit, I dont know if that included the build or not, I assume it doesnt.
3 grand is a bit rich for my blood for a 5.56. At that price point I'll kick up the ante a bit and give Barrett a call.

P90 is really cool, except FN is "de-teething" it by stopping importation of SS109.
Still a cool gun, but with the whole ammo scene looking like crap I'd be very leary of running out and buying one as soon as they hit the street. But, if thats the toy to make ya feel good....

Personally, I'd either get a Valtro, Shiloh Sharps, Sig 55x or a Barrett .50 if I had a fat wad of cash to spend on a firearm thats wasnt a NFA type weapon.
For real fun toys.... UZI, MP5 or AR16. Most likely try for a MP5 with optional suppressor. Thats well over 7 large though, and Uzi's dont really do it for me. For 7 large I'd probably get a nice rifle, nice pistol and suppress my go to guns rather then go FA.

Really a hard choice when you get down and think about it........

There is alot you can do with an AR-15, and some of the piston uppers (Leitner-Wise) coming into the market look very promising. Another option is the LMT MRP with quick change barrels. There is a lot of talk of both the F2000 and and P90 being offered this year in semi-auto civililan legal format. Pictures are over at AR15.com. Also the SCAR-L and SCAR-H may be offered as well. I would love to get my hands on any one of those. Another one to consider would be the DSArms FAL clone, the Para-Congo... FAL with and 18" barrel and folding stock. I have had both the HK-91 and currently have a FAL, and would take the FAL hands down over the 91.

Interesting times in the firearms industry right now. The 'War on Terror' and end of the AWB seems to have really invigorated the industry.

Couple of pics.

If I had the $$$ I'd consider getting a rail light for my G22, but alas...:(

I have a Pelican M6 Lithium flashlight that I carry. It's not as convenient as a tac light mounted on my Glock, but it's on par with hand-held surefires/streamlights.
