currently have the spire falconrock2 on a 2100+ o/c to 12x166; temps are around 44C idle 49C full load.
i like the hsf manly as it is so quiet but still allows a modest o/c

how does the thermaltake silent boost rack up in terms of both noise and cooling power?
i assume it is a better cooler but wonder at what price ito noise

i own both hsf and i would say the silent boost cools better compared to the falconrock. bottom line is i wish i would have bought an SLK in the first place period.

Silent boost is a much better HSF that should lower those temps by more than 5C.

For some people does, for some it doesn't. I think it is 25 or 27db.

I have the silent boost and I am very happy with it. It is 21dBA. Found it for $25 shipped here. I bought one from them and it arrived in about 3 days. About the noise, I think it is very quiet, but I am used to loud computers.

I have a silent boost and 3 Vantec Stealth fans... the noise level is noticable when I'm sitting at the computer, but drops completely by the time I reach the other end of the room.

it's not quite "silent," but it definitely a lot quieter than the stock fans/heatsink.

I have Silent Boost coolers in 5 computers. It cools very well and the noise level is acceptable. On my main rig which is an Athlon XP 2400 not overclocked I replaced the fan for a Papst one which runs a 1600 rpms and silent, temperature gets about 52 at normal use and 49 idle. Over all I am very happy with its performance and price.
