Any good tracking camcorders?

I am doing some hardware research for a camcorder to purchase for use in recording classroom lectures and surprisingly my google skills are failing me. I was hoping I can tap into some collective knowledge here from some experts.

What I am looking for is a camcorder that can automatically pan and tilt to follow an instructor in a classroom setting. What I am envisioning is that the instructor would be wearing a RFID or similar tracking tag so that the camera knows where to point.

All I could find are motion detection web cameras that identify skin tones and follow motion. However, what happens if a student walks in front of the instructor? Wouldn't the camera just follow that person then?

Is what I am envisioning science fiction?! I could have sworn I heard of such a product existing.
 
Sci-fi as far as I know. The only thing I have ever seen like it was a kid built an auto-tracking Airsoft gun like the one in one of the Aliens movies using a camcorder, computer, and a gun.
