For user reviews, you can try Epinions or get an account on Home Theater Forum and ask around. Also try Circuit City for more user reviews. I personally don't know any good professional review sites, sorry.

Toshiba and Panasonic will give you the best bang for your buck.

If you can afford it, buy a Sony.

CostCo B&M has some great deals on brand new Panasonic Tau's which are absolutely stunning, you gotta see it in person.
