Any good scanner reviews ?

Think I'm going to dump my Canon S100 digital camera. Quality really sucks.
Looking for a scanner and would like to read a review.

I got my Umax2200 at Jungle for like £60 when it used to be £130 or so. Has a transparency adapter in the lid (not as good as a professional dedicated transparency machine, but at least you get pictures out of it😀)
The Umax has good software. You should look on computer magazine websites, they are always reviewing scanners.

I would go with an Epson scanner, I have had two in the past, and they have both worked well.

Thanks for the tips guys.
Anyone know if a web site has reviewed/compared several scanners like the cannon n650u?
cheers

pcpro is an english mag that reviews scanners quite often. On their page you will find links to other Dennis publishing magazines too.

I just got the Plustek Optic Pro UT12 scanner. It also has a transparency adaptor, 36bit color, 600x1200 optic resolution, scan/OCR/Fax/pc copy buttons on the front. I am thrilled with this scanner's quality!

here's my .02

Epson's are the best. Back in high school, all the scanners in my high school were Epsons. Best scanners I've ever used. Most of the scanners I've seen so far on campus (Carnegie Mellon are Epsons too). However I own a Umax Astra 1220u, and am pretty satisfied with Umax. Only reason I got a Umax over the Epson in the first place was USB (back in the old days). I'm still using that Umax to this day. I saw some good deals on some Umax scanners at Best Buy the other day. Around $80 after rebate for a top notch scanner (3200?). Way better than mine anyway. But if you have the money, go for an Epson. By the way, I'm an Architect major, couple that with updating for my personal website, and I use scanners everyday, so... I sort of know what I'm talking about in terms of personal experience...
