Any good replacement sounds for AIM?

The imreceive and imsend sounds are getting a bit annoying, does anyone have a replacement, that isn't quite as...disturbing?

Too bad you have to go through 6 menus to get AIM to STFU completely.

They should have a one check silence button, the system as it is now SUCKS.

back when I used AIM, I used a wave editor to edit the sounds. There was way too much empty noise at the end of the sound. The sound was like .8 seconds long (okay, so I don't remember the exact times here), .4 of which was "trrring" and .4 of which was "ssssssss" (background hiss noise). I cut out the last .4 seconds. It made me a lot happier.

Actually, i ran it through Cool Edit, and normalized it quite a bit, so it woudlnt have that jump-out-of-your-seat effect. Let me try editing the last few .x seconds, thanks!

You think AIM is bad? Try MSN once.

I turned the sounds off but it would _still_ make a noise everytime I got a message. After I turned all Windows sounds off I thought I was set for silence. Think again! This time the motherboard speaker started beeping after I got a message.
Instead of unplugging the motherboard speaker I decided to make a silent wav. I've got a .9 sec silent wav to replace the msn sounds.

i like the original IM sound from the AOL program. but i haven't turned on my speakers for who knows how long, so yes, silence is also good.

Go download some trillian skins and steal the sounds... Thats what i do.. Some of them are pretty damn good
