edit: To clarify, I want a personal encrypted journal that has no likelihood of being read by anyone else.

the LiveJournal engine is good, if you want a really complex setup :p

I didn't much like LiveJournal, and a lot of people I know on Multiply used to use it. Multiply is a lot nicer.

For offline journal I use MPD2000 (MyPersonalDiary), although there is a new developer involved, and I've not upgraded to the new product, though it's descended from the same and I may eventually. Find it at http://www.alpharealms.com/journal/ I'm not one to buy a lot of software, but in this case I considered it worthwhile.

If I was to want to do it for free, I'd use a treepad file in Keynote, which is an excellent freeware anyway. You can find Keynote at http://www.tranglos.com/free/index.html

Is this for your Dixiesys hosted domain?

Don't they offer DirectAdmin with Installatron?
