Any good music from relatively new (post 2008) artists?

I'm looking for some good music from new artists starting from the end of last decade. My music library is seriously lacking music from new artists after 2008. I prefer alternative, rock, electronica, maybe some pop.

Any suggestions?

Artist that released their first stuff after '08? Or can it be artists from any period that have put out good stuff since '08?
A lot of the newer stuff I like is new artist mining the past, but in a way that sounds fresh. Mark Ronson, Bruno Mars are good examples. In the rock arena, check out Rival Sons. Heavy 70s influence, but rock in their own way. Ed Sheeran is talented. If you like funk, and you should, check out Quantic Soul Orchestra.

And some stuff isn't new, but can be new to you. Blows me away when I hear new stuff that is 20 years old. Where the EFF has this been all my life. Fela Kuti

The only one that comes to mind for me is The Gaslight Anthem. They're alternative rock, I guess? Influenced by Bruce Springseen quite a bit, and they're from Jersey too, but there seems to be a little Nirvana influence in there too I think.

Anyway, they formed in 2006 but their "breakthrough" album was released in 2008. Looks like they just released a new album last year that I haven't heard yet so I'll have to check that out. :awe:

Alestorm is a fun band, started listening to them last year.

Ugh, Bruno Mars is so terrible. I mean, sure, he's talented and all, but I can't stand any song of his I've ever heard. At all.
 
Death Cab For Cutie has had several solid new albums out, Weezer's new album got a lot of very good reviews and I quite like it myself

These aren't new artists, but they're still putting out new releases. The last several albums from The Chemical Brothers have been consistently great. They have a new one coming out now.

Daft Punk's "Random Access Memories" was great and definitely deserved the "album of the year" award it got.
