Hi I know that a lot of LCDs make noise, sometimes because of the inverter and sometimes the power supply.
Are there any good ones (current or past) 20" and above, preferably widescreen, that have an external power supply?
An external power supply allows the noise to be isolated and removes the heat from the screen.
Thanks

I can understand wanting to remove heat from the LCD, but if it is buzzing then I'd think that would be grounds for an RMA. All the LCDs I've ever owned (eight) have used regular computer power cords, plus all the ones at work (hundreds). No buzzing or other noise that I can tell. Heck, when it's quiet at home (my computer is really quiet) the loudest thing is the ringing in my ears. :Q

Sometimes you get buzzing which will be the inverter. But I think also sometimes there can be power supply noise at a low level, more of a hiss, which is quiet but audible. But with a power brick hidden under the desk for example it isn't audible.

I don't think you can RMA something for noise that most people would not notice. It is at a low level. I have definitely heard external psus make a noise that is audible to me close up. My monitor makes a hissing noise that is just audible to me from 2m above a very quiet background.
