Any good IPhone apps for train systems--or 'hard' maps I do not have to use data for?

I would love one this time when I go to London,Munich. Prague, and Amsterdam-- instead of using the paper ones!

oooo, or a 'hard map' where I do not have to use data to download, like I do with google maps..because I have a jailbroken Iphone with T-Mobile, plus data overseas is expensive!

Is there any way to get a map that I do not have to have data for--so I can see where I am going in these other countries?

a ghetto solution is to find a jpg of the map and add it to photos.

I thought about that...not a bad idea, but I would need some high res/high quality maps.

At least for NYC, there is a nice app called 'citytransit' which worked well for me.

I tried downloaded high res maps...and when on my iphone they get distorted and unreadable

Is it because they are jpgs/jpegs?

There is the site iSubwayMaps which was mainly for iPods, but they have a few maps formatted for iPhone as well. You just put them in Photos, if they are formatted properly it doesn't look too bad. I had some on my 1G nano for a while, never tried the iPhone versions though.

I do not think that will work...I do not have a MAC, it has a bunch of mac osx files.
