So my plan is to get my good diet back on track monday after the super bowl.

I've been drinking just a bit self-medicating for some personal reasons. I was overdue for this and I do it now and again, but I will be sober for months, it's what I do. Just a once in a while kinda thing. I know it's not the best thing, but for me getting drunk once in a while is good Irish Therapy.

I've been sticking to liquor. I had a bunch of Whiskey and ginger ale last night. And unfortunately threw up a lot before bed.

I'm thinking I'll take some activated charcoal capsules I have to help bind toxins. And maybe some greek style yogurt for my gut. Been hydrating but not at my usual rate since my stomach is effed up. Also have a headache.

Any suggestions?

Once you have a hangover, you're usually screwed for the day. I try to drink lots of fluids to flush things out (as you've discovered, this is difficult to do) and spend the day hunkered down on the couch. By far the best option is to mitigate the effects before you go to bed by hydrating properly - drink lots of water throughout the night and a big glass before bed. If you feel at all like you're going to throw up before you go to bed, do so, don't try and fight it. Throwing up is a quick way to get rid of alcohol, and if you go to bed feeling queasy, your hangover will be much worse and may involve throwing up or wishing you could throw up anyway. If you throw up it's even more important to drink water. You can also take 2 ibuprofen or something similar before you go to bed.

Drink some Gatorade and water, and go for an easy run the next morning. You will sweat out the booze, and possibly puke a few minutes into the run.

Either way, you will feel a lot better. Works for me (well, with *slight* hangovers, not full-on ragers).

I know you mentioned liquor, but I've heard that beer brewed under German purity laws (like Beck's beer) won't cause hangovers.
