Any good Flash tutorials?

I've been charged with building a virtual scoreboard for my school district. Originally, they (the power that be) wanted me to somehow build this thing using an off the shelf blog package, and HTML? I'm not sure what they were smoking, but looking further into this it seems using flash would be the best method. Unfortunately, I've never really used flash other than for some basic animation. I was figuring I could use SOAP or something home-grown to tie it to a backend and make this upgradable in then future.

Does anyone have any good tutorials for something like this? Books, webpages, anything?
