Hey all!

Last DS game I bought was Puzzle Quest 2...since then nothing got my attention.

Maybe I missed something?

What are you playing that is worth my $$$?

Picross is a neat puzzle game that can be found cheap. Professor Layton games are also good games, which are pretty much just a collection of brain teasers and puzzles. I liked the castlevania games too.

Definitely the Professor Layton series.

I only played the first one, "curious village" and it was a fantastic game. I wanted to play the next two but my DS screen has been broken for awhile and I have never bothered to fix it.

You know those are good games when even after 3 years, the game is still at $29.99 msrp.

Do you like puzzle games?

Hotel Dusk and Magnetica then.

Strategy - get Colonization.

Rhythm - Elite Beat Agents.

Platforming - any Mario game.

If you like words, Scribblenauts and Super Scribblenauts are definitely worth a look.

The Mario and Luigi titles (Partners in Time, Bowser's Inside Story) are deep exploration turn-based RPGs with some action sequences and a boatload of humor. If you'd rather play Sonic than Mario, the Bioware title Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood is very similar in mechanics.

For action titles, Geometry Wars: Galaxies and Bangai-o: Spirits are great, although both suffer from framerate drops when things get crazy.

Dragon Quest IX has been sucking up all my gaming time lately.

If you like old-school RPGs, it's worth a look, imo.

Yeah looks cool. Got DQV collecting dust for now...dunno why, I started this game, was a blast and from nowhere, lost interest...

I have:

Dragon Quest V
Final Fantasy III
Final Fantasy IV
Suikoden Tierkreis
Puzzle Quest 2

All excellent games IMO but interest is meh...need something to regain the will to fire up my DS!

Boom. DQIX is on sale for $17 on Black Friday at Target. Will be picking one up for me and the missus, you should too.

/Thread . . . just kidding. There's a multitude of excellent titles on the DS, like Picross3D, All the Castlevania Games (Ecclesia was the best one on the DS, IMO), Metroid, Mario, etc.

The Professor Layton series and the Dragon Quest series (both the remakes and the newest one) have kept me busy for a while. If you want to go somewhat old school I would recommend any of the Pokemon titles.

Elite Beat Agents is awesome. Hotel Dusk is a great game as well. OP doesn't like any Castlevania games?

This plus the PQ series and the Phoenix Wright series. Awesome games.

This and Chrono Trigger on the DS is definitely the definitive version to play. The remakes of Final Fantasy 3,4, and 6 are excellent too...if you're into RPGs anyway.

Edit: 6 is a GBA game. I'm currently playing 5 from a GBA cart as well.

Puzzle Quest 1 and 2 are great time sinks, but I have a fiery hatred for the all-too-frequent timed gate hacking mode in Puzzle Quest: Galactrix and never bothered to finish the story campaign as a result.
