Any good data recovery progs?

I installed this prog because I have a one gig file on a DVD that keeps buggaring me when I try and get it off, generally somewhere around the middle mark. So I got badcopy pro trial and the thing hangs up maybe 15 megs in...then the second time it hung 20 megs in. So, it's even worse than explorer!

I've only had to use one recovery program before, and it worked flawlessly. It's was R-Studio NTFS 2.0. It saved somewhere around 20,000 mp3's that I accidently deleted/formatted. It wasn't free, but it did work.
