I use T-Mobile's, I think its the most economical. $50 for 2 lines of service (400 shared minutes). $10 for each additional phone. I think it was $80 for 2 lines of service w/ 800 shared minutes. But 400 is fine for me. Mobile-to-Mobile minutes are free (meaning no minutes are deducted if you call any other T-Mobile cell phone), and free nights and weekends.

You get free nights? I only get free weekends. I didn't get free nights with either the $80 or the $50 plan. (I second T-Mobile.)

When I login to the tmobile website, this is what it lists as my plan details:

Plan name FamTime Unl Nts 400
Plan Price $49.99
Whenever minutes (per month) 400
Weekend minutes (per month) Unlimited
Weeknight minutes (per month) Unlimited
Mobile to mobile minutes (per month) Unlimited
Additional minutes (per month) $0.40

Actually, I'm not sure how I got onto the FamTime Unl Nts 400 plan. When I go to the website, the Family Time Basic plan doesn't include weeknights. I got my 2 phones through Amazon where you have to sign up for an individual plan for each phone (for rebates) then call up to combine them later. I called up and just said I wanted to combine my 2 lines into the Family Time Basic plan. I guess I got lucky and the CSR gave me the version with unlimited nights. Cool! :)

The same thing happened to me. The family plan that includes free nights is technically a "promotional" plan. When I called T-Mo after receiving my phones from Amazon they had to re-read me new contract terms because you're essentially starting a new 1-year contract to get the free nights. Of course, I was only 1 day into the two separate contracts Amazon had started for me. :p

BTW, the T-Mobile CSRs were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The new phones I got (Motorola V300s) are really sweet. :D

My sister just received her Samsung E105, nice phone but ouch $149.95 (via upgrade service) ... think I'll hang on to my boring but small and easy to use Nokia 3390.

Ok, here's the deal . I want to get T-mobile family plan for total of 3 phones.

I currently have T-mobile 300 min plan with a phone and the contract ends next month.

I checked out Amazon prices and their prices on phones were best :) but they didnt have any family plans listed..

So, If I purchase 2 phones from them with basic plans, can I call T-mobile service rep after I get them and combine them to get family plan for all 3 phones?

i think i might have to goto a T-mobile booth sometime and figure this out :)

MustangSVT,

That's what BigSmooth did, signed up for the 600 minute plan for 2 cell phones.

After receiving the cell phones he called T-Mobile and switched to their Family Time Plan.

PM BigSmooth for more details.

It does include unlimited nights and weekend :)
I'm on the family plan with 3 phones on it under my name :)
It saves my family so much money :) since my parents basically use it to call in case of emergencies or to reach family members, they basically use no Anytime minutes.
Most of the people I call have t-mobile so no minutes get deducted :) and I basically have like 100-150 anytime minutes left over every month:)

i'm on the 49.99 for 400 anytime, unlmited mobile to mobile, unlimited nights and weekend. with $10 dollar additional phone
