I started going back to school and am having some trouble studying.. i had been out of school for 2 yrs due to medical reasons. before that, i was starting up school again at a state college. Didnt seem to have problems with studying before getting sick. I decided i needed to get something finished and get out in the workforce, so now, im taking classes at a business college (go heald! yah! :p uh. not really) but have studying problems like taking notes, and my memory is shot. i go 2 chapters into the book, and it's fine. do another 2-3 chapters and you ask me about previous chapters, and i dont have a clue.

i know there are books out there that help people with bad study habits, but can anyone recommend a good one? tia!

For class, if the teacher writes something on the board, write it down. Paraphrase the key points (what keeps getting repeated or emphasized).

As for reading, it depends on you. At first I'll skim through the chapter to get a feel for it. Then I'll read it once. I'll go over it and make an outline with and note the key points. With that in mind, I may re-read the chapter again or until I can get a somewhat good understanding of it.

Just experiment with it, you'll find what works best for you.

listen to Mozart while studying for math... It is proven that your grades will improve... I am not joking either
