I enjoy watching Naruto, Bleach, Fate-Stay Night, Tsubasa Chronicles, I'm into all that "Fantasy" stuff (Tsubasa), action (Bleach-Naruto type thing), and romance is a definite plus (FateStayNight). Of those four anime's, I'd say Tsubasa and Naruto are the best two...If it helps, I think Final Fantasy (games AND music) are the greatest things ever made.

Monster, Deathnote....they both on youtube. Deathnote is interesting, but Monster's storyline will suck you in until you finish the series.

Suzuka for silly high school fantasy romance.

Full Metal Alchemist

One Piece- Awesome (English Sucks hard)

Eureka Seven- (Romance. Awesome anime. Gets a bit Emo in the middle, but action and story is amzaing)

Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuttsu/ The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi (Don't Judge this Anime on
Episode 1, it's horrible on purpose) - INCREDIBLE Anime

Eyeshield 21- Aniome about American Football. Love this because its hilarious

You like sh!tty anime so it may be hard to suggest good anime to you.

I'll try though:

Honey and Clover
History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi
Nodame Cantabile
Berserk
Grappler Baki
Hajime no Ippo (The Fighting Spirit)
Goldenboy

and plenty others.

I just saw Grave of the Fireflies for the first time tonight...and cried

IMO, Jin-Roh The Wolf Brigade was the best film of 2000, regardless of Anime or non-anime. It's a "thinking" film vs all action though.

I still love Dragonball Z just for guys beating the crap out of each other.

Trigun was pretty good.

For old school anime, the Americanized Star Blazers was my first anime favorite, followed by Robotech.

I just finished watching DNAngel... it was pretty good

I liked Trigun too, but didn't really get into it until it started nearing the end (around when Wolfwood was introduced)

I really liked Elfen Lied. Started up a bit slow, and the nudity was a bit excessive IMO (seemed like a lot of it was there just for shock factor), but stick with it, the series really starts to pick up about halfway in. Would definitely recommend it.
