Especially that Hero3 Black model

How good is the battery life? How long of a video recording could I get out of a 32gb card at say 1080p?

Is the black edition worth it or save a hundred bucks and get the silver?

I have the white but I wish I had sprung for the silver at least. Image is fine and battery life is decent but I kind of wish I had the higher resolution camera.

I have the white as well. I kind of wish I had gone one level higher. It was a good deal though. $160.

Wish the battery life was better on them. The remote would be helpful as well, I just with it didn't operate via wifi, which drains the battery like crazy.

I have a hero3 black. The video quality is great at 1080p. However you have to have a beefy computer to play the video on windows media player. Otherwise you have to use vlc player and for some reason the video doesn't look as good to me on vlc.

Never really ran out of space on a 32 gb card. I have only shot at most 20 min videos.

Where you will be limited is the battery. It seriously sucks at 1080p and I had to buy extra batteries just to last me a day of downhill mountain biking

Then when you upload to youtube, your high quality video gets compressed to crap. I believe vimeo or imgur has better quality

battery life is sad. I think I get ~1:30 of recording time off a battery using 1080p in protune mode.

I have a black3+

My roommate has the Hero3+ Silver. He uses it for fishing a lot, and we used it at the beach when we went on vacation. Seems to take really decent video, and the battery lasted longer than I expected. I think he has a couple 32GB cards that he swaps out.

I borrowed my friend's hero 3+ silver for a trip to kauai. it was pretty awesome for the helicopter flight and atv tours that i did.

If I shot at 1080p 60fps on the Hero 3 Black for an hour straight. How big would the file be?

I'm trying to estimate how many 32gb cards I will need or I will have to bring a laptop on my trip to pull the files off it
