Any gift recommendations for a professional photographer?

Don't get her anything to do with photography. They know what's the quality stuff & probably have what they need. Take her out to dinner at a restaurant with alot of ambiance & unique scenery. It might inspire here next project.

Interesting. She uses an analog camera. I was thinking of getting her a Digital SLR camera, but they range from $1000 to $8000 for the 16 megapixels version.

She takes stills. It's difficult to describe but her main interest is taking pictures of non-moving objects.

Nothing more than a grand. And I never really looked at her equipment. I went to B&H the other day and they said that if I found out which camera she had, the digital SLR camera from the same company would be compatible with her equipment. But the cameras start at a grand. Any other suggestions?

Photoshop CS upgrade.

that would more or less be pointless seeing as she does not have a digital camera

and without knowing what she has, suggesting equip woudl be hard

Photographer = Artist

Love to be spoil and be at the center of attention. Flower, wine/dine, romatic get away, etc...

You could get some prints by the greats, she'd probably enjoy copies of a few famous photographs.

Don't buy her any equipment. None. You can't afford and don't know what she needs/uses.

I'd say find out which famous photographers she looks up to and get a few nicely framed prints by said photographers for her.

If I were a waitress, I wouldn't want a meal for x-mas. Try getting her something totally unrelated, like some clothes or a watch or something. Good luck.

Make her a card or perhaps a picture frame out of contruction paper. And then in the picture, put a blank piece of paper, and in very tiny/light letters, Put, "Gee, this is missing a picture!" I dunno, sounds creative to me.

Just thought of something else, if you want to do somethign photography related, do something different, find someone who makes silvers or tin type photos. If you had a tin made of you, i think she'd think its pretty cool.

I think there are some websites out there that show how to make a tin type (at least i think they are called tin types or silvers).

edit: Here's a link to get tintype making equipment, i think it'd be wise to read a book or two at the library on how to do this.
